The Womb Effect

The WombEffect™ is the result of combined research efforts from a team of experts including an assistant professor of pediatrics, a team of pediatricians, day care specialists, a world-respected audio engineer, two internationally acclaimed musician / composers and the director of music studies at Washington University, St. Louis, MO.

After exhaustive testing, the team concluded that simulating the womb environment helps to regulate a baby's under-developed nervous system and makes them feel safe and secure, thereby allowing them to fall asleep easier and stay asleep longer. The result is to help ease the transition from the calm & peaceful neonatal world to the relatively noisy, chaotic world outside the womb. Back in 2002, the research team studied the effects of different types of sound on a selected sampling of babies. The theory was that some sounds may be helpful because they remind the baby of the sounds inside the womb. The following sounds had a partial degree of success: Vacuum cleaners, Fan noise, White Noise Generators, and Road noise (from driving around in a car). Then the researchers tested actual recorded sounds from the womb, using a special digital process, (now known as the Womb Effect), and the results were astounding.
